Raised Gloss is the world's best finishing solution which is more advanced than digital embossing and UV epoxy finishing effect which utilizes transparent ink (Ink thickness: 5-250 micron) to produce prints with 3D effects.
Raised Gloss techniques that allow embossing and UV epoxy finishing effects to be done using a digital printing method is much more cost-effective compared to offset printing as a large printing template plate is not required. Digital printing allows low-volume printing for small businesses.

1. Create Scodix layer on top of printing layer.
2. Specify Scodix finishing area (front) in Raised Gloss layer with K=100 (black).
Do create these lines using “Create Outline” function in AI, regardless of regular lines or dotted lines.

*Dark color area: K100
Area with different density: set to K20-30
*Reference: If wide area is filled with medium density it may appear blurry.
Scodix is not applicable for creasing or cutting lines (2mm margin is required on all sides between working and finishing lines)

Raised Gloss creates a raised, clear glossy finish on the applied area. The minimum thickness of a Raised Gloss area is 1mm.
If it is below 1mm or if the gap between each Scodix area is below 1mm, chances of Scodix ink clumping may occur.

< Design Tip >
- Make sure to have a margin gap of 0.5mm or more between each Raised Gloss area.
- For Raised Gloss areas that are more than 5-10mm, effect may appear uneven, therefore please reduce size area.
- For Raised Gloss text effect with no print - Very small fonts cannot be produced as the Raised Gloss liquid may clump together.
We recommend to add Scodix effect onto logos or highlighting certain content in your artwork.
